Totalitarianism, that political system which emerged in Europe between the two world wars, devoid of freedoms or pluralism, underpinned by propaganda centred on the cult of personality surrounding its leaders – Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini... From the emergence of these regimes to their spread against the backdrop of a global conflict, an exploration of the two main prototypes of this form of rule, which led to the worst possible outcomes.
