When using the ‘ARTE CAMPUS’ website, your personal data will be processed by us as the data controller and stored for the period necessary to fulfil our contractual obligations and to comply with legal requirements. In the following, we inform you what data is involved, how it will be processed and your rights in this respect. If you use ARTE CAMPUS via your school's user interface (Single-Sign-On), please also note the information on data protection at your school.

Personal data within the meaning of Art. 4 no. 1 of REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR) all information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

2. Processing of personal data and purposes of processing

ARTE CAMPUS is a service that offers teachers or trainers and students or trainees more than 1,000 ARTE programmes for all subjects. The multilingual videos with transcriptions (DE, FR, EN) can be used online and offline and can be easily edited, completed and integrated into mind maps. In order to make this offer available to our users, personal data is processed in accordance with the following principles:

a) When accessing the website

You can access our website without disclosing your identity. Information automatically sent by the browser used on your device to our website server (e.g. browser type and version, date and time of access) will only be used to enable a connection to the website. This also includes the IP address of your device. This is temporarily recorded in a so-called access log file and will be archived after one year and automatically deleted after 2 years.

The IP address is processed for technical and administrative purposes in order to establish the connection and to ensure the stability of the connection, to guarantee the security and functionality of our website and to check whether the user is in a geographical area in which he or she has the right to access our site. It is also processed in order to detect any unlawful attacks on our system and to comply with any requests to the data protection supervisory authorities to legally disclose information stored in the access log file.

The processing of the IP address is based on art. 6, para. 1, sentence 1, lit. c RGPD (legal obligation) and on art. 6, para. 1, sentence 1, lit. f RGPD (legitimate interests). Our legitimate interest derives from the aforementioned security interest and the need for our website to function properly.

The processing of the IP address and other information contained in the access log file does not enable us to detect your identity.

In addition, we inform you of the use of cookies and analysis tools when accessing our website. For further information, please refer to paragraphs 4 and 5 of this declaration.

b) When creating a user account

Users may create a password-protected account on our site.

When the user registers on the ARTE CAMPUS site, the following information is collected:

Institution concerned

e-mail address

Subject taught or studied

Area(s) of interest and

Profile confidentiality preferences (public or private)

This information is used to process personal data for the purpose of identifying you and setting up your user account.

Creating a user account also requires you to provide a password. Together with your e-mail address, this password gives you access to your user account. The data stored in this account can be consulted and modified at any time. This data is processed at your request and is necessary to set up and use your user account and to carry out pre-contractual measures (art. 6 al. 1 phr 1 lit b RGDP).

You can also enter other information and additional parameters in your user account, e.g. add other subjects taught or studied or areas of interest. This information is optional and is not required to set up your user account. This information is used to make the offer more individual and in line with your interests. For each user account, we record the date of creation of the account and the date of the last connection in order to be able to observe the scope of use of our site and to optimise our offering. This data is processed on the basis of art. 6 al. 1 phr 1 lit f RGDP), this processing is necessary for the purposes of the aforementioned legitimate interests.
After deletion of your user account, your personal data will be rendered anonymous, unless we are obliged under Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit c GDPR to retain and document the data for a longer period in a form that allows the data subject to be identified without the need for further information.

c) When registering for our newsletter

If you have an account and have given your express consent in accordance with art. 6 al. 1 phr. 1 lit. a and art. 7 RGDP, we use your e-mail address to inform you regularly of new publications selected from our site.

You can unsubscribe from this newsletter at any time, either by clicking on a link at the end of each newsletter or by sending us an email to contact@arte-campus.fr.

Once you have withdrawn your consent to receive the newsletter, we will no longer send you any newsletters.

Our newsletters are sent by the service provider Brevo, 7 rue de Madrid, 75008 Paris. The email addresses of the recipients of our newsletter will be stored at our request on Brevo's servers in France.

Brevo uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletter on our behalf. We have entered into a subcontracting agreement with Brevo. In this contract, Brevo guarantees that the data will be processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and that the rights of the data subject will be protected.

Brevo guarantees that personal data is fully protected against unauthorised access. Brevo does not use the data of the recipients of our newsletter to write to them or to transmit their data to third parties.

d) When using our contact forms

We offer you the possibility of contacting us using the form provided on the site. You must enter your e-mail address and formulate a subject and your message. When using the contact form, you may voluntarily provide other information (name, information about your profile), which is not, however, necessary for sending and processing your request.

We need this information to identify the origin of the request and to be able to process and respond to it. The data processing is carried out at your request and is justified in the context of processing a contact by our legitimate interests in accordance with Article 6, paragraph 1, sentence 1, lit. f RGPD.

Personal data collected when using the contact form will be deleted once your request has been processed.

e) When interacting on our site

Registered users can use various multimedia functions on our websites, such as commenting on Programmes, creating mind maps or creating and commenting on video clips.

If you create and publish content or when you use the comment function, other registered users will see this content linked to the information you have provided in your profile.

The data processing is carried out based on your interaction and is justified by the legitimate interest in the exchange of user opinions and information, as well as in the contemporary and attractive design of ‘ARTE CAMPUS’, in accordance with Article 6, paragraph 1, sentence 1, lit. f RGPD.

All personal data published in this context will be anonymised when the user deletes his/her contribution or user account or when this account is deleted.

f) Site hosting

The Site is hosted by OVH SAS, 2 rue Kellermann, 59100 Roubaix Tel: +33 (0)8 203 203 63 (hereinafter referred to as ‘OVH’).

In order to offer websites, it is necessary to hire a hosting service. The use of the services offered by OHV is justified in accordance with Article 6, paragraph 1, sentence 1, lit. f RGPD by our legitimate economic interest in offering our services on this website. Within the framework of hosting, personal data resulting from the use of the website will be processed on our behalf by OVH.

We have concluded a subcontracting agreement with OHV. In this contract, OHV guarantees that the data will be processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and that the rights of the data subject will be protected.

g) Video hosting

The videos are made available by the video hosting service of Amazon Web Services, EMEA SARL, 38 avenue John f. Kennedy, L-1855, Luxembourg (hereinafter: ‘AWS’).

The provision of videos requires a hosting service. The use of the services offered by AWS is justified in accordance with Article 6, paragraph 1, sentence 1, lit. f RGPD by our legitimate economic interest in offering our multimedia services on this Website. In the context of hosting, personal data obtained when using the content displayed will be processed on our behalf by AWS.

We have concluded a subcontracting agreement with AWS. In this contract, AWS guarantees that the data will be processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and that the rights of the data subject will be protected.

3. Transfer of data

If we transfer personal data collected via the Website to data processors, we inform you of this in this data protection information in the context of each data collection and processing operation (see below).

The processing of data transferred by recipients is limited exclusively to the aforementioned purposes.

Furthermore, we will only transfer your personal data if

you have expressly consented to the transfer in accordance with art. 6 al. 1 phr. 1 lit. a GDPR or if

the transfer is necessary to comply with a legal obligation under art. 6 al. 1 phr. 1 lit. c GDPR.

5. Rights of the person concerned

You have the right

to revoke your consent at any time (Article 7(3) of the GDPR). Consequently, we can no longer continue to process data based on this consent in the future;

request information about your personal data that we process (art. 15 RGPD). In particular, you may obtain information on the purposes of the processing, the category of personal data, the categories of recipients to whom your data has been or will be disclosed, the intended retention period, the existence of a right of rectification, deletion, restriction of processing or objection, the existence of a right to lodge a complaint, the origin of your data, unless we have collected it, and the existence of automated decision-making, including profiling and, if necessary, useful information about its details;

to obtain, as soon as possible, the rectification of inaccurate personal data or the completion of incomplete personal data (art. 16 RGPD).

to obtain the erasure, as soon as possible, of personal data concerning you, unless processing is necessary for the exercise of the right to freedom of expression and information, to comply with a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims (art. 17 RGPD).

to obtain from the controller the restriction of the processing if you dispute the accuracy of the personal data, if the processing is unlawful but you object to its erasure, if we no longer need the personal data but it is still necessary for you for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, or if you have objected to the processing pursuant to art. 21(1) GDPR (art. 18 GDPR)

to receive the personal data concerning you that you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and to request the transfer of this data to another data controller (art. 20 RGPD); and

to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State in which your habitual residence or place of work is located or at our registered office (art. 77 RGPD).

Information on your right to object in accordance with art. 21 RGPD

You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data based on Article 6(1)(e) (processing necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest) or (f) (processing on the basis of a balancing of the interests involved) GDPR, including profiling within the meaning of Art. No. 4 GDPR based on these provisions.

Where you object to processing, the controller will no longer process your personal data, unless it can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests and rights and freedoms, or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

If you object to the processing of data for canvassing purposes, your personal data will no longer be processed for these purposes. A reason relating to your particular situation need not be given. The above also applies to profiling insofar as it is linked to such prospecting.

7. Data security

All data you personally transmit is encrypted using the generally accepted and secure TLS (Transport Layer Security) standard. TLS is a proven, secure standard that is also used for online banking. You can recognize a secure TLS connection by the s appended to http (i.e. https://...) in your browser's address bar, or by the lock symbol in the lower part of your browser.

We also use appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or unauthorized access by third parties. Our security measures are constantly improved in line with technological developments.
